Hi y’all. Thanks for continually coming back to the space I use to share creative and inspirational messages, as well as for my own self-therapy. Ha!
That’s what writing does for me. It allows me to process things in a way I couldn’t otherwise. I think my husband feels this when he’s creating music for hours on end in our guest bedroom. 😉
So, many are asking: where are you and E going to live next? If you don’t know the backstory, here it is in 3 sentences: We currently live in Indiana, but we’ve always wanted to live in the big city. It’s down to either Chicago or NYC. We’re waiting on an answer regarding a commercial real estate space that I would potentially run the second “B Present Studio” at in Chicago. The painful truth: We still don’t know. It’s frustrating and I’m anxiety-ridden most days until I hand it over to God. The bottom line is we will be living in Chicago and I will be running the barre studio full time (which aligns with all of my passions and dreams for the future), or we’re moving to NYC without having set jobs and embracing the adventure of a lifetime. I keep reminding myself that there is no better time than now to live in the space of the unknown. So much of my life I’ve played it safe and had every little thing planned out in perfect detail, until lately.
On the bright side, I have less than 20 school days left. In case you didn’t know, I teach first. I’ll be honest, it’s rough. Most days I come home in tears or I have to go straight to the barre studio to teach a class which is my saving grace. I have so much respect for these K-3rd teachers after trying it out this year! Prior to this, I had only taught high school Spanish and 6th grade. Let’s just say first graders and I aren’t a match made in heaven.
With a busy schedule of the school year wrapping up and a move on the horizon, I have neglected to grocery shop and cook more often than I’d like to admit. One of the girls I was doing private training with at B Present told me about Plated and now I’m hooked! From Spring Minestrone to Steak Stir-Fry, the meals have all been incredibly tasty, healthy, and easy to whip up in under 35 minutes. Plated is making me look like a better wife since we’ve had home cooked delicious meals every night this week 😉 You could say I’m obsessed and there may be a collaboration in the works to benefit y’all soon!
I know this time in my life will be over in flash and I want to savor every bit of it instead of hurrying through the motions just to get on with life. That’s why I’m extending an invitation to all of you who are local to come say hi, check out this cute little house we’ve been renting for our first year of marriage, meet other amazing women in the South Bend area, and if you feel like shopping, there will be Noonday on display! Mark your calendars: next Tuesday, May 3rd from 5-8pm!
I can’t express this strongly enough: you DO NOT have to purchase a thing! I promise. I totally steer clear of these kinds of events typically because I don’t want to feel obligated to spend money. So there’s no pressure here. 🙂 It would make my heart so full to simply have our home packed with old and new faces for one last shindig before we start packing it up. Especially those of you who’ve been long time readers and aren’t too far from me, come and let’s be real life friends! 😉
If you’re interested, shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I’ll get you my address. If you can’t make it, but would like the opportunity to learn more about Noonday and shop the beautiful collection, click here: Noonday and type in “Amanda Carpenter” for the trunk show name. For every $50 you spend, your name will be entered into a drawing to win these, two of my absolute favorites!
Happy Friday Eve, lovelies.
